This is a key role on our Finance Team!

Deluxe is seeking a Lead Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team.

This position plays an integral role in meeting our SEC-based external reporting requirements and evaluating strategic contracts for revenue recognition implications. This role also provides technical support to our business units on complex matters and new accounting standards and is instrumental in the application, development, and ongoing maintenance of our Corporate Accounting Policies. This individual has the opportunity to be a key player in shaping our accounting processes.

  • Assist with the financial reporting process through preparation and review of supporting work papers associated with 10-K's, 10-Q's, Earnings Release, Proxy Statements, and Board of Director meeting materials.

  • Responsible for the revenue recognition accounting for certain revenue transactions: analyzing and allocating revenue for agreements with multiple-element arrangements, bundled pricing, rebates/incentives and software revenue recognition considerations.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and periodic accounting and reporting for stock-based compensation and cash flow statement preparation

  • Perform and support the annual goodwill impairment analysis as well as provide accounting support for acquisitions and divestitures, as necessary.

  • Serve as a resource for our operating units accounting and finance leaders in areas that require accounting or technical support for complex or unique transactions, areas of judgment and the adoption of new accounting standards, business

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelors in Accounting and 5 years or HS/GED and 9 years

*GAAP knowledge and technical accounting research skills

*Experience performing complex accounting research

*Experience with SEC based financial statements preparation/review

*Thorough understanding of complex accounting standards

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors in Accounting

Experience: 5 years of experience

*CPA

*3+ years Big 4 / Public Accounting Experience

*Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

*Executive presence including the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and other business unit / senior leaders

*Excellent communications skills and leadership skills
