Summary

The Operations Manager-Entitlements and Access Controls is responsible for the day-to-day management of workloads, phone/mailbox coverage, associate development, performance management, personnel issues, and additions/reductions in staff. This role includes modeling the attitude and behavior expected by the team and demonstrating and ensuring associates maintain the security and entitlements of systems, including but not limited to Thomson, Beta, eQuest, NetX360, DTCC, Salesforce, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex questions or problems of an escalated nature that the staff cannot/should not resolve.
  • Manage workloads and staffing needs, including hiring and disciplinary actions, associate reviews, and departmental procedures.
  • Plan and organize staff activities, including periodically reviewing work allocation for balance and efficient utilization of personnel.
  • Develop employees' goals and performance objectives and work to help the employees achieve them.
  • Adhere to the department, firm, and regulatory agencies' established policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with the team, vendors, and other departments within Stifel to help drive departmental and firm-wide projects/initiatives.
  • Delegate projects, support group assignments, daily duties, and other duties, projects, and initiatives as the Directors assign.
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and recognizing each team member's strengths and weaknesses.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge in interpreting and applying financial industry rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge in leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to lead projects through to completion and motivate staff.
  • Ability to ensure all controls within the department are met and written procedures are audited annually.
  • Proficient in time management and delegation of duties to ensure project and department work is efficiently covered.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Required: 8+ years of experience within the financial services industry or equivalent access control or equivalent management experience.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: FINRA SIE or the ability to obtain it within six months of hiring.

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Stifel's applications is preferred (Thomson, eQuest, Salesforce).
