Zions Bank has just opened an opportunity for a Community Development Business Officer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position reports to the Senior Vice President for Community Development and Engagement and acts as a principal relationship manager and project director for high visibility community development initiatives. Ideal candidates will have skills and experience needed for these responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and partner with others to construct opportunities, partnerships, and supportive environments related to Zions Bank's commitments to its communities.
  • Develop, plan and execute community development projects and initiatives related integrated housing, transportation, community health, land use, and real estate planning, development, investment, and financing.
  • Work with bank colleagues to understand and contextualize community development and business opportunities within existing and proposed business products, practices, and strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback for colleagues and stakeholders on collaborative projects and initiatives.
  • Source and develop new services, projects, products and partnerships.
  • Work with colleagues in a range of business units to effectively manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and communities.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer related financing, funding, and education/training programs in alignment with community partner programs and offerings.
  • Assist in associated research and communication efforts, including qualitative and quantitative research, financial analysis, and communication projects.
  • Perform tracking and preparation of executive reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to business reviews, program and progress reports.
  • Developing and refining business processes and promote a collaborative culture committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, real estate, business administration, community development, urban planning, marketing, economics, or closely related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience working in community development; real estate management, development, and financing; land use planning and policy; or related industries.
  • Problem-solving skills and a creative, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • People skills with the ability to form trusting relationships, work collaboratively and transparently with colleagues, inspire confidence in a wide range of settings, and interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Relevant experience at collecting and analyzing data; researching and preparing original content; and presenting program and project findings in a clear and ethical manner to executive leadership, public and private sector stakeholders, and the general public.
  • Business presence and acumen with the demonstrated ability to provide information and data and articulate an informed point-of-view.
  • Some familiarity with general principles of economic development and city, urban, rural, and community and neighborhood planning, especially in Utah.
  • Demonstrable commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion and to encouraging input from people representing a wide range of backgrounds and interests.
  • Excellent track record of putting team, partner, and community priorities ahead of individual interests in professional settings and assignments.
