Job/Internship Description

Primary Purpose
This internship will provide hands-on support to the Project Controls team in maintaining the quality of Project Control services related to estimation, planning & scheduling, risk and cost control to the organization. This internship offers an opportunity to learn the SI Project Controls Process throughout the definition, execution, and operation phases of SI Capital Projects. Moreover, interns will have the opportunity to utilize their academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, showcase their potential, and work with organization staff to meet daily business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support cost control and scheduling activities with the purpose of providing the Project Management Team with accurate cost forecasts, risks and opportunity monitoring, progress, performance, and schedule data to manage the project.
  • Assist development of summary schedules such as Level 0 Schedules, Level 1 Schedules, and Critical Path summary schedules.
  • Develop and maintain Owners Critical Path Analysis for Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, and other project Critical Paths.
  • Produce Schedule and Progress Reports - Weekly Reporting, Monthly Reporting, Presentations, Progress & Schedule Analysis Reports, other reports as needed.
  • Assist with the Analysis of Change Orders.
  • Assist Cost Controls team with Monthly Cost Reporting.
  • Assist in developing Processes & Procedures related to Cost Controls.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree - Sophomore, Junior or Senior-level student in an accredited college with degree major in engineering, construction science, construction management or related degree.

Experience

  • 0-1+ years of experience with creating reports for distribution in concise and easily understandable formats preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft project tools - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills to effectively track, report, and manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
